Artist Bio

Komeil, an Iranian born artist began his artistic journey as a young child painting alongside his late father, who was a painter, Persian calligrapher and musician. Since then he has continually explored words, music, mediums and styles in his search for deeper connections – with himself as well as with others.

 

Komeil is also an experienced art teacher and conducts classes and workshops for children and adults of all abilities. He teaches online as well as in-person classes.  

 

Komeil’s work in Malaysia includes:

  • I don't know if we will ever meet again, a collection in progress – 2023

  • 30 Portraits in Exile – a collection of paintings funded in part by The Krishen Jit Fund 2021

  • Where I tried to double park, solo exhibition at Improv Bistro, Kuala Lumpur – November 2019

  • Here Beyond, solo exhibition at Improv Bistro, Kuala Lumpur – March 2019

  • Artworks exhibited at Our Body Space, Kuala Lumpur – March 2017

  • Featured artist for Himapan Malaysia Gallery’s lotus leaf paintings exhibition – Nov 2016

  • Mural painting and illustrations for commercial spaces and marketing material

  • Book illustrations. The latest book is “A to Z Grandpa & Me” by Diani Lee – published December 2018
